How to Convert Thai Reward Points Into Airline Miles
A practical walkthrough of every confirmed points to miles transfer path available in Thailand today. It covers what each program is worth, how the math works, and the mistakes that quietly destroy value.
If you live in Thailand and use a bank credit card, a telco loyalty app, or Grab, you are probably sitting on more airline miles than you realize. You just have not converted them yet. Kasikornbank, Bangkok Bank, KTC, True Digital Group, and Grab each run a rewards points system. Each one can, in specific and confirmed ways, be turned into airline miles on Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, AirAsia, or Singapore Airlines. The catch is that every program uses a different ratio, a different minimum, and sends you to a different airline. The official information is also scattered across bank PDFs, in app screens, and outdated blog posts.
This guide lays out every confirmed transfer path as of this writing, plus the valuation logic that SiamMiles' calculator uses to tell you whether transferring is actually worth it compared with redeeming points directly.
Why points and miles are not the same currency
Bank reward points and telco loyalty points are usually worth a fixed, low amount when redeemed for cashback, vouchers, or merchandise, often somewhere in the range of a few satang per point. Airline miles, by contrast, have variable value. A single mile might be worth very little on a heavily discounted economy fare, or worth several times more on a well timed business class redemption. Converting points to miles is a bet that you will use those miles on a redemption good enough to beat your program's in app cash value. That is the core question SiamMiles is built to answer.
1. K Bank K Point to Royal Orchid Plus (Thai Airways)
Kasikornbank's K Point program converts into Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) miles at a fixed 4 K Points equal 1 ROP mile ratio, with a minimum transfer of 20,000 K Points for 5,000 ROP miles. K Points themselves are earned at roughly 1 point per 25 THB of card spend. This transfer path excludes KBank Titanium, business, and corporate cards, so check your card type before assuming you are eligible.
Because Royal Orchid Plus is a Star Alliance program, ROP miles can be used not just on Thai Airways but across the wider Star Alliance network. That meaningfully increases their flexibility compared with a single airline points currency.

2. Bangkok Bank Thank You Rewards to Royal Orchid Plus
Bangkok Bank's Thank You Rewards program also feeds into Royal Orchid Plus, but at a less generous standard rate: 3,000 Special Points equal 1,000 ROP miles (a 3 to 1 ratio), with a minimum transfer of 3,000 points. Cardholders on the Platinum Leader or Visa Infinite tiers get a meaningfully better Platinum Point rate of 2,000 points for 1,000 miles (2 to 1), with a 2,000 point minimum. Those premium cards also earn Thank You Rewards points at double the standard rate.
Processing typically takes around three business days, so this is not an instant transfer. Plan ahead if you are trying to lock in an award before a sale or a seat availability window closes.

3. KTC FOREVER Points to Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific)
KTC's FOREVER Points convert to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles at 4 FOREVER Points for 1 Asia Mile. Unlike the bank to ROP transfers above, this happens instantly through the KTC Mobile app rather than requiring a multi day processing window. FOREVER Points can also move to roughly ten other airline programs through KTC's broader travel with points feature. That makes it one of the more flexible Thai bank points currencies for frequent flyers who are not loyal to a single alliance.
KTC periodically runs bonus transfer promotions. For example, it has offered a bonus of 100 extra Asia Miles per 5,000 points transferred during a limited window. These promotions are time limited by design and should not be assumed to be part of the everyday, baseline conversion rate. Treat any promotional bonus as a bonus, not the norm.
4. TrueYou TruePoint to AirAsia BIG Points
True Digital Group's TrueYou TruePoint is the simplest conversion covered here: 1 TruePoint equals 1 AirAsia BIG Point, a flat 1 to 1 ratio, with a minimum transfer of 1,000 points. TruePoints are earned at roughly 1 point per 25 THB spent on True mobile, internet, and TV services. The transfer itself happens through the BIG Xchange feature inside the AirAsia app, or through a BIG Points Code that gets redeemed inside the TrueID app.
It is worth calibrating your expectations here. AirAsia BIG Points are a budget carrier currency, and their redemption value per point is structurally lower than a legacy full service carrier's miles (see the valuation section below). A 1 to 1 ratio sounds generous, but the destination currency itself is worth less per unit.

5. GrabCoins (formerly GrabRewards) to KrisFlyer: a program in transition
This one needs more care than the other four. Around November to December 2025, Grab rebranded its GrabRewards loyalty program to GrabCoins across Thailand and six other Southeast Asian markets. The new GrabCoins system is built around instant in app discounts, roughly 20 GrabCoins for every 1 THB off a ride, food order, or delivery, rather than the travel rewards catalog that GrabRewards used to offer.
Before that rebrand, the last confirmed GrabRewards to KrisFlyer transfer rate had already been devalued to roughly 13,000 GrabRewards points for 1,000 KrisFlyer miles (a 13 to 1 ratio), following a 30% devaluation in September 2023 that moved the rate from 10 to 1 to 13 to 1. We present this 13 to 1 figure only as a last known historical reference point, not as a live, guaranteed rate. Because the GrabCoins catalog is actively in transition, you should check the Rewards or Xchange section of the Grab app directly for whatever airline mile options currently exist before making any decisions based on this number.
There was also a much older GrabRewards to Royal Orchid Plus path (1,600 points for 100 ROP miles, a 16 to 1 ratio) tied to a 2019 promotional campaign that expired on 31 December 2019. That path is not current and is mentioned here only for historical completeness. Do not plan around it.

What a mile is actually worth
Once you know the transfer ratio, the harder question is what the resulting miles are worth in Thai Baht. SiamMiles uses illustrative baseline valuations drawn from independent travel rewards research, then lets you override that baseline with a real fare in Exact Redemption mode:
- Royal Orchid Plus: a baseline of roughly ฿0.42 per mile in economy, though short haul Thailand to Asia sweet spot redemptions can reach considerably higher value, up to roughly ฿4.50 per mile, on some award charts. Sources: CardCurator — Thai Royal Orchid Plus sweet spots, RewardzTravel — Thai Royal Orchid program guide.
- Asia Miles: roughly ฿0.42 to ฿0.46 per mile in economy, rising to an estimated ฿0.90 to ฿1.40 in premium cabins. Sources: Cash For My Miles — Cathay Asia Miles guide, iBuyPoints — Cathay Pacific Asia Miles valuation.
- AirAsia BIG Points: roughly ฿0.07 per point when redeemed on AirAsia flights, weakening to around ฿0.06 per point for other airline redemptions. Treat this as a distinctly lower, budget carrier tier value compared with full service programs. Source: Malaysia4U — AirAsia BIG Points review.
- KrisFlyer: roughly ฿0.53 to ฿0.56 per mile in Saver Economy and around ฿0.88 in Saver Business, with a floor of roughly ฿0.35 per mile introduced for cash offset redemptions after Singapore Airlines' July 2025 policy change. Quick estimate or exact redemption: which mode should you use?
The SiamMiles calculator works in two modes, and picking the right one matters:
Quick Estimate mode is for when you have not picked a flight yet and just want to know whether it is generally worth converting your balance. Enter your source program and balance. The calculator applies the confirmed transfer ratio plus a baseline mile valuation to estimate what your points are worth as miles, then compares that with redeeming the same points directly in the app (cashback, discounts, or vouchers). You can see the at a glance verdict on whether it is even worth it.
Exact Redemption mode is for when you have already found a specific flight and know both its cash price and how many miles it costs. This mode applies the formula that travel rewards analysts actually use: (cash price minus taxes and fees) divided by miles required. That gives you your real value per mile for that specific booking, the only number that matters once you are deciding whether to actually book.
A flat baseline number tells you whether converting is generally a good idea. A real fare tells you whether this specific booking is a good idea. Use quick estimate to decide whether to start converting. Use exact redemption to decide whether to book.
Common mistakes that quietly destroy value
A few patterns come up again and again when people convert Thai rewards points into miles:
- Transferring before checking seat availability. Transfers are typically irreversible. Confirm the specific award seat exists on the airline's booking engine before you convert a large balance.
- Ignoring minimums and increments. Several programs round down to the nearest multiple of the ratio (for example, K Bank's 4 to 1 ratio), so oddly sized balances can leave a remainder that does not convert.
- Assuming promotional bonus rates are permanent. KTC's periodic bonus mile promotions and historical GrabRewards campaigns are time limited by nature. Do not build your long term strategy around a rate that is scheduled to expire.
- Treating GrabCoins like the old GrabRewards catalog. Since the 2025 rebrand, Grab's rewards system is oriented around instant discounts rather than a stable airline transfer table. Always verify current options in the app rather than relying on historical figures.
- Comparing miles across programs as if they are equal. A KrisFlyer mile and an AirAsia BIG Point are not interchangeable in value. Always compare using an actual cents per mile, or Baht per mile, calculation, not raw mile counts.
Before you transfer
Rates, minimums, and promotional terms across all five programs are set by Kasikornbank, Bangkok Bank, KTC, True Digital Group, and Grab respectively, and can change without notice. SiamMiles is an independent calculator, not a financial advisor, bank, or airline, and is not affiliated with any of the companies named on this page. Before transferring any points, confirm the live rate directly in your bank, telco, or Grab app. Since these transfers are usually irreversible, it pays to double check first.
